Current hemostatic patches are expensive and are not designed for minimally invasive procedures. LifePatch™ is a lyophilized patch composed of modified chitosan, designed to be used in minimally invasive and open surgical procedures as a hemostatic patch. Consistent with all Life™ Surgical Portfolio formulations, the patch is also designed to be bacteriostatic in vitro.

Work?

By providing a matrix for platelet adhesion and aggregation, on contact with fluids, Medcura’s hydrophobically modified chitosan lyophilized patch allows for mucoadhesion to wet tissue, creating a bacteriostatic barrier that stops bleeding. LifePatch™ is free of fibrinogen and thrombin.*,**
