Hemostasis and Reinforcement of Suture and Staple Lines
LifeFilm is a ready-to-use, transparent film composed of hydrophobically modified chitosan, designed to stop bleeding and reinforce suture and staple lines.* LifeFilm will focus in the areas of lung, spine, cardiac, general, gynecological and urological procedures. Consistent with all LifeTM Surgical formulations, the film is also designed to be bacteriostatic in vitro.
This product has not been approved or cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for any uses, and the safety and effectiveness of this product for these uses has not been established.
By providing a matrix for platelet adhesion and aggregation, on contact with fluids, Medcura’s hydrophobically modified chitosan film allows for mucoadhesion to wet tissue, creating a barrier that stops bleeding.
LifeFilm is designed for hemostasis on sutures and staple lines, is relatively transparent for bleed site clarity and is designed to in vitro.
